A lot of sun, a lot of warmth, water in time …
Ça me plait assez
bien, beaucoup,énormément … J
What to do with a leftover Noro-yarn, wonderful colors but at the price it is, I would have expected a better quality … (tangles and makes knots from ball, breaking at blocking …)
Some little flowers or stars (depends what you prefer to see …)
hooked together which I blocked without tearing and stretching too much.
Sewed it on a piece of flax and added a border in coordinated colors round it.
Quilting in the middle is done by little knots through the three layers.
Borders are done by machine stitching and those stitches are embellished with Valdani perlé thread.
Like it J
Merci V !!!!
Hyacinths stay in my top favorite flowers. I got these bulbs from V and they started to grow very well, but – oh! – suddenly the decided to put down their heavy heads and covered a part of the table. Nevertheless they gave me during several days a delicious perfume. That’s most important isn’t?
The ritual is a century old: every year the Royal Greenhouses in Laken open their doors to the public for three weeks at the start of spring. And it’s now!!! From Friday 19 April till Sunday 12 May 2013 in the Castle of Laken. It is an excellent opportunity to see the wonderful architecture of Alphonse Balat, the mentor of Victor Horta, and also the many plants and flowers in the greenhouses.
Look in the last picture : there is a little Smurf !!!
almost forgotten ...
Happy april month!
I had a wonderful week despite these first wet and windy days (today ‘stormy’ day) of December.
I had some good moments with Q and enjoyed it soooooo much J
Cracotte & Biscotte, the two other babies, two little brothers are growing
My flowers in my living room are blooming as never before
saint-paulia, anthurium, cactuses … lovely !
just bought my first hyacinth which is showing already a bud and will soon be smelling very nicely
and I have been knitting
on the socks-loom for a last sock and mitten for the next little book
and my Christel Seyfarth butterfly-hat ???
Yeah … it’s finished !!!
I loved the knitting, didn’t do the nupps (the wool is rather thin and I found them not looking good enough, so I made some stripes, and the top of the hat is also a little different…)
You can always look at her site for more inspirational pictures
happy weekend for you all too!
Remember in March of this year, early spring I had this plant in my living room: simply gorgeous.
Saw it every year in the Royal Gardens, and took finally the risk to buy one.
The flowers felt down after a few weeks, and the leaves were rather melancholy during the summer, but then …
ooohh surprise !!!! Look what came peeping !
Only one flower, but I’m happy it’s blooming again!!
and yes someone little is peeping too in the corner …
and the Christmas cactuses are starting their blooming period too. A lot of flowers …
Where did I go yesterday evening??? I went to a concert.
Two of my favorite Belgian performers on the scene, just those two with 25 year luggage on songs, rhythm and beautiful poems.
started with ‘way to your heart’ without all the jingles and bells … only two guitars and their warm voices …chilling and the atmosphere was set! I felt just like in the good old days when I was
young…a little bit younger ... hm!
You want to hear and see them too … look at soulsister.be
It’s been a few days since my last posting,
but I’m really busy, you know, it’s not that I do nothing!
I had a lot of paperwork to catch up,
and I started continued my decorations.
This means hanging some quilts and frames on the walls.
And look, my walls … they are really “dressed up”.
And I also started to clean and order a little my studio.
This is not yet finished:
too much stuff,
too much to do and I still don’t have my cupboard,
so I limited me to unpack the boxes with books and ranged them in the bookshelves.
But look how filled my storage is!
And the sun is shining through the window and makes it all looking very ‘summery’.
And today, I took my first sun-break on my terrace.
With a sweater of course, because the wind cools the air and it’s still chilly, but the sun was delicious to feel!
You know what I did in the sun?
Cutting all the strands of threads of my hooked scarf, and that was pretty relaxing in the sun.
Now I need to block it.
I used a whole ball of Regia and about 40 grs of olive-green and cobalt of Malabrigo lace (taken together), all with hook nr 3.
When the shape is wright, you’ll see it here.
And with the sun shining and the spring coming up, my plants on my terraces are recovering very well from the moving.
My forsythia will be in bloom very soon, the first little blossoms bloom on the top of some branches.
My hellebores have kept her wonderful flowers. I thought with the moving that they wouldn’t last, but I was wrong.
For inside I acquired a special plant: a medinilla. I see every year in the “serres de laeken” some gorgeous specimens, and I always wanted to have one and try if it pleases in my interior. Now that I’ve got my living room being much brighter, I’ll give it a try. The flowers of this plant are hanging down, so it’s absolute necessary to place it a little high, otherwise you miss the beauty of it.
Look at the evolution of the flower bud till it’s fully open.
Blue moon, you saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own
Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for someone I really could care for
And then suddenly appeared before me, the only one my arms could ever hold
I heard somebody whisper 'please adore me'
But when I looked, that moon had turned to gold - ohohoh
Blue moon, now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own.
Without a love of my own
Song from R. Rogers L. Hart

Pink is a softer less violent red. Pink is the sweet side of red. It is cotton candy and bubble gum and babies, especially little girls. It represents sugar and spice and everything nice. Most people still think of pink as a feminine, delicate color. Pink is romantic and charming. You can use pink to convey playfulness (hot pink flamingoes) and tenderness (pastel pinks). It's not surprising that when giving or receiving flowers pink blossoms are a favorite.
In Japan, the color pink has a masculine association. The annual blooming of the cherry trees, with its pink blossoms, each spring (the Sakura) is said to represent the young Japanese warriors who fell in battle in the prime of life (the Samurai).
